Landscape designer websites with a page per project, $997 fixed

Your portfolio is the product. The site's job is to make a client feel the garden before it's built. Then make it easy to ask for one.

Each project gets its own page

The best design-and-build studios I pulled apart give each service its own page and keep a deep gallery. For a designer I go one step further: a page per project. Each page carries the brief, the site as it was, the finished space, and your own words on why.

It reads better and it works harder on Google. A grid of 40 photos shows up for nothing. 40 project pages can each show up for what they are. 6 projects works the same way as 40. Think "courtyard garden Paddington" or "native coastal garden Bulli". Each page is a door into your site.

Proof a client can check

  • Years in practice as a number
  • Named clients or named suburbs on each project, where the client allows
  • Awards and press with the year and who gave them. A logo wall with no dates says little
  • The designer with a face and a name. People hire the person

The top sites in each trade I've looked at use oddly specific numbers. Numbers a client can check. The bottom ones use big round claims with nothing behind them. Clients can tell.

When the garden should be a 3D world

A garden is a space, and a photo can't hold one. If your studio competes on design, a 3D website lets a client walk through the work. No scrolling past it. It's the same idea as a site walk-through, but it runs in the browser. No app, no plugin. Every 3D build I do ships with a fast flat version too. That one is for phones that can't run the 3D. So the portfolio isn't a blank screen on an old phone.

If your studio competes mainly on getting found and quoted, I'll tell you. The standard build does that job better for less.

2 fixed prices: $997 or $1,997

Standard website

$997

A page per project. An enquiry path built for a phone. Proof laid out so a client can check it. 1 call, live by Friday once you approve the design.

About the standard build

3D website

$1,997

The premium build. The garden as a world a client moves through. For studios that win work on how they come across.

About 3D websites

Done For You plan

$97 / month

Either build at half price. It's yours outright once the website's value is paid. Then I handle hosting and upkeep, domain setup, speed work, regular updates and a monthly stats report. Finished a new project? Send it and I'll put it on the site.

How the plan works

3 questions designers ask me

How should a landscape designer present a portfolio online?

A page per project. That's my recommendation. The best studios I pulled apart use a page per service and a gallery. A project page carries the brief, the before, the after and your own words. Each one can then show up on Google for its own suburb and style.

Is a 3D website worth it for a landscape designer?

For a studio competing on design, often yes. A garden is a space, and a site you move through shows that better than a photo grid. If your studio competes mainly on getting found and quoted, the standard build does that better for less. I'll tell you which one applies to you.

What does a landscape design website cost?

$997 fixed for the standard build. $1,997 fixed for 3D. Either is half price upfront on the Done For You plan at $97 a month.
